At Toastmasters being actively involved helps to embed the knowledge and skills you learn at meetings and from outside sources. You can start small and work your way up the responsibility ladder. In the Warm-Up Master role for instance you can either create a group quiz, select a discussion point or choose any group activity you can think of to switch on your audience. Although it is a simple task, planning it to fit within the timeframe allocated and providing sufficient instruction are key for it to be a success. Valuable skills for any walk of life.

What happens at Toastmasters? It’s always a fun night, meetings don’t have to be boring! The Toastmasters journey revolves around two structured pathways. Members can choose:
  • Communication and / or
  • Leadership
For each pathway you will be provided a manual to guide your development in both areas. Each member nominates themself for one or two roles. Committing to roles and responsibilities allows members to practice the skills that effective communication and leadership requires. There are mentors who can offer personalised support and each meeting is a great opportunity to grow from constructive feedback.
